You can use built-in browser accessibility features, which basically makes the browser ignore some CSS rules from the web page and instead use colors that the user can set. Sure, most extensions do dark mode by injecting CSS but there is another way. These all work on the desktop version. However, they have a click-baity website (SEO enhanced). There's no github page for the developer. The browser performance is not affected to a large extent. The extension offers support via a chat function built in (I have never seen this before) and I am unsure if this is not a scam. There's no information about the developer on the website. The developer has, of course, laid a billing option etc with a client area and I am not sure how many paying customers he/she has. It is a paid extension (!) wherein you have to pay for a year after about 3 months trial. I wish they could optimise it or make it open source so that it could be made better.įinally, Night Eye. Night Mode Pro: I actually liked this but it screws up login's on Reddit I think it is unable to work with the overlays. Nothing stellar to recommend but affects the browser performance. I have been disappointed largely because despite the multiplicity of extensions, there has been no outstanding extension. My requirements are that there should be no whites while loading the page and it shouldn't affect the performance of the webpage. I have been searching for the right addon for the dark mode.
